DIRECTOR OF EXTERNAL RELATIONS / ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director of External Relations role at Celebrate Arkansas is a unique opportunity to work with an incredible number of nonprofits striving to make a positive difference in the lives of others. This position is responsible for all relationships with nonprofits and sponsorship opportunities in the NWA region and across the state, as well as event attendance and photography coverage for the social section of the magazine. As an Account Executive, this position coordinates ads, event coverage, trades, and editorial expectations, as well as tickets and post-event production for each sponsorship. This individual works closely with our team as the primary person responsible for coverage of events and advises as to the best opportunities to target clients and prospects. As the primary point-of-contact with nonprofits, this individual must be able to represent the positive nature of our brand to clients.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate, negotiate, and represent Celebrate Arkansas at events to build business with current and potential partners while raising awareness of the Celebrate Arkansas brand

  • Document all information on each agreed-upon partnership in our internal client/content management software, Magazine Manager, to ensure that the Managing Editor and Executive Creative Director can include pertinent content in their production and design schedules

  • As an Account Executive, over 50% of time is focused on sales efforts, concentrating on those relationship opportunities afforded through nonprofit board relationships and events attended throughout the year by suppliers and local businesses

  • This position helps to cover the Celebrate Arkansas office throughout the week, supporting communication with nonprofits and distributing magazines committed to those organizations and events throughout each month.

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required

  • Nonprofit or sales background preferred, but not required
